Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, HMM and Yang Ming will implement a number of changes to their joint THE Alliance East - West network in April. The four partners will not close any services or start new loops and the modifications to the current network are fairly limited. The revisions mainly concern North China, Germany and the US East Coast. Both Hapag-Lloyd and ONE will introduce numerous 23,660 – 24,000 teu newbuildings in 2023 in this trade to replace smaller vessels. This will trigger fleet cascading effects, with more 14,000 – 15,000 tonnage being re-directed to Far East Asia - USEC services. The new Transpacific offering of THE Alliance will include ten Asia— WCNA services and five Asia - USEC loops. As congestion at US ports is easing, the four alliance partners int to revise some of their rotations for five Far East – USEC services as follows: EC1 - Kaohsiung, South China (currently Hong Kong and Yantian),Shanghai, Ningbo (new), Busan, Manzanillo (Panama), New York(new at the expense of an EC2 call), Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Manzanillo (Panama), Kaohsiung EC2 - Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Cartagena (Col), Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington, Norfolk, Cartagena, Busan, Qingdao EC4 - Kaohsiung, Xiamen (new as from 12 December already), South China (currently Yantian), Cai Mep, Singapore, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, New York, Singapore, Kaohsiung EC5 - Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Singapore, Colombo … (Suez) …Halifax, New York, Savannah, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Halifax … (Suez)… Jebel Ali, Singapore, Laem Chabang
