Starting with the 14 June departure of the 4,892 teu MSC LYSE V ex Yantian, MSC is launching an additional China - USWC service as the peak season on the Transpacific kicks off early. The service will be branded as ?earl?and turn in six weeks, calling at Yantian, Xiamen, Long Beach, Yantian. The new loop will be operated by vessels in the 4,840 ?8,270 teu size range. MSC has already operated a Transpacific ?earl?service in the past until July 2025. The Geneva-based carrier is recycling the old brand name. Unlike its predecessor, the new ?earl?loop will focus strictly on Yantian and Xiamen, bypassing Vietnam, Nansha and Hong Kong. The launch of the new loop comes at a moment when spot ocean freight rates are on the rise.
