Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd will in early July addextra calls to two Transpacific mainline services of their joint GeminiCooperation East West network. The Maersk-operated Far East ?US West Coast?P8?loop (HapagLloyd: ?C2? will start calling at Tianjin, which will becomethe second call in Northern China adding to Qingdao. The service will continueto turn in eight weeks with 11,000 teu vessels calling at Tianjin, Qingdao,Busan, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Tianjin. The first ?P8?sailing fromTianjin will be offered with the 11,008 teu GUTHORM MAERSK on 2 July. Another Maersk-operated service betweenVietnam, South China and California will add a second Yantian call on thereturn (westbound) leg from the US to Vietnam. This ?P6?loop (Hapag-Lloyd:?C1? will continue to turn in eight weeks with 8 x 9,470 ?11,300 teu shipscalling at Cai Mep, Nansha, Yantian, Los Angeles, Yantian (new), Cai Mep. Theseport additions are the first modifications to Gemini? ?ub and spoke?networkwhich was launched in February 2025. This network combines mainline East - Westloops with a limited number of calls at hubs and other main ports with regionalshuttles. Of note, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd also justdecided to add a second call in North China (at Qingdao) on their joint FarEast ?Middle East ?M1 / AGX?service.
